Orient Around Your Values

Everyone was born with specific talents and gifts, which they do effortlessly and with pleasure. A person is naturally drawn or attracted to activities, which express these God given gifts. When I say effortlessly, I do not mean that there is no work involved. Intense focus and determination may be required but the ”work” is so pleasing and natural to the person that it is a work of love not drudgery.

As a coach, I find that often people discount their talents because they come so naturally and easily. We have been brought up on the notion of “no pain no gain” which is simply not true when it comes to ones values and purpose in life. Creating from this place of natural ability, evokes a flow of wonderful energy that simply must be expressed and through its expression, comes a glow of excitement and fulfillment.

These gifts are the foundation for the person’s purpose in life. When our gifts are being used toward the highest good for all concerned there is benefit, pleasure and prosperity for all.

I love to read mystery stories. I have often thought I would like to write a mystery story or at least study the process behind a mystery story’s creation. Although, I am quite sure that I have no natural talent in this area, I am extremely grateful that some people do, because, mystery stories have given me many hours of pleasure and relaxation. How wonderful that there are thousands of mystery writers in the world. The same talent in so many unique expressions gives me so many grand choices!

Most of us are not able to do ONLY the things we love but the more we orient our goals and lives around these natural values and talents the more satisfaction we will experience.

When I work with clients in career transition, the first thing I ask them to do is list everything they have ever loved doing and have done well and what it was about that activity that gave them satisfaction. Then we look for the gift, which if properly expressed in a job, will give them the greatest career satisfaction. Though it may not seem like it at the time, loosing a job could be the gateway to a job that will give you greater fulfillment and satisfaction than you believed possible.

There is no one else in the world with your experience and imagination. You are a unique expression of the Divine.
